~ 1946 GENERAL TELEVISION BLACK PLASKON TUBE RADIO MODEL 5A5 ~

The Radio-Cafe is pleased to offer for your consideration this gorgeous 1946 General Television BLACK PLASKON version of the 5A5, fully restored and in pristine condition!

These small sets are among collectors favorites for their design, color combinations used, as well as other varying details. But don't let the small size fool you when it comes to sound, as they pack a nice punch with good clear audio!

The black Plaskon cabinet has no cracks or chips and has been naturally polished to a beautiful shine! As for the trim, I decided to redo the original ivory knobs, handle and trim pieces in painted "Coral" which really brightens the set up and would look great displayed as a kitchen radio or with other GT sets of different color combinations. Depending on the lighting, the coral color can look more pink, red or a lighter peach coral hue so this gives the owner a nice variation depending on where it's displayed.

This set has the earlier stamped brass dial scale (not foil) and in wonderful condition. The electronics have been fully restored as well and I back my work with a full one year electronics warranty. SOLD
